Create an agent by describing it
Describe your business and what the agent should do on calls. AI writes the instructions, the greeting and the settings, then opens the agent in the builder for you to review. It takes about 2 minutes, plus the time you spend reviewing.
You need a workspace role of Builder or higher.
1. Describe the agent
Section titled “1. Describe the agent”-
In the sidebar, open Agents, click New agent and choose Create with AI.
-
Under Describe your agent, write a few sentences, or click one of the examples to start from it. For example:
A friendly receptionist for Smile Dental in Pune that books check-ups and cleanings, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm.
-
Click Continue.

A good description says:
- Who the agent is for: the business name, what it does and where.
- What callers want: book, ask about prices, report a problem.
- What the agent should collect: for example a name, a date and a phone number.
- The facts it needs: opening hours, services, prices it may quote.
- What to do with everything else: take a callback number, or say someone will follow up.
- The language, if it isn’t English: for example in Hindi and English.
You don’t need to get it perfect. You can change everything afterwards.
2. Answer a few questions
Section titled “2. Answer a few questions”AI may ask A few quick questions so the agent gets your business right, for example which services you offer or what to do outside opening hours.
- Pick an answer, or type your own where there’s a box.
- Skip this one leaves a question to AI. It picks a sensible default and lists it for you to check later.
- Skip all, let AI decide skips the rest.
Click Build my agent when you’re done. Depending on your answers, A couple more questions may follow.
3. Let AI set it up
Section titled “3. Let AI set it up”The dialog shows Setting up your agent while AI works. This usually takes 10 to 40 seconds:
- Reading your description
- Writing the prompt and greeting
- Choosing voice and models
- Checking the settings
Then the agent opens in the builder.
4. Review what AI wrote
Section titled “4. Review what AI wrote”A note at the top says Created with AI. If you skipped questions, it also lists what was Decided by AI: check those suit you.
Go through the sections on the left. The most important ones:
- Basic info: the name, what the agent does, its persona, language and tone.
- Prompt: the Instructions (the agent’s job and rules), the Greeting and the Closing line. Short, spoken sentences work best.
- Data to collect: the details the agent asks for and saves with each call.
- Voice & models: the voice and the AI models.
Next to the persona, the instructions and the greeting, Refine rewrites the text with AI. Your changes save on their own.
5. Try it, then publish
Section titled “5. Try it, then publish”Use the Test panel on the right: Chat to type as the caller, or Talk to speak to it. See Test an agent in your browser.
When it behaves the way you want, click Publish and connect a phone number. Steps 3 and 4 of the quick start show how.
